Beginning with a couple of days in Launceston, you’ll have enough time to really get to know the city and discover some of its hidden treasures. While you’re in town, be sure to visit the neighbouring Tamar Valley wine region, renowned for its vineyards and expansive golf courses.

The itinerary will guide you north from Launceston, up to the seaside village of Bridport, where the famous Bay of Fires can be found. From there, the journey heads south, past St Helens and Freycinet on the east coast and all the way down to Hobart, Tasmania’s capital city. On your way back up to Launceston in the north, enjoy scenic stopovers in destinations like Strahan and Cradle Mountain.

The adventure begins with two full days in Launceston. Situated on the edge of the Tamar River, Launceston is ideally situated right next to Tasmania’s prettiest wine regions. Spend the night in Bridport before changing direction and navigating down the east coast of Tasmania towards St Helens and Freycinet National Park.

The second half of this campervan holiday covers southern Tasmania, from Port Arthur, where you can explore World Heritage listed convict ruins, to Hobart, the state’s bustling capital city. The final leg of the journey includes travels up the east of the state, past Strahan and Cradle Mountain.
